Jose M. Lanza-Gutierrez was born in Zafra (Spain) in 1986. He received the B.S and M.S degrees in Computer Science from the University of Extremadura, Caceres, Spain, in 2008 and 2009 respectively. In 2010, he obtained the master’s degree in grid computing and parallelism at the same University. In 2015, he received the Pd.D. degree in Computer Science from the University of Extremadura under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Juan A. Gomez-Pulido. He is currently working at Centro de Electronica Industrial, Universidad Politecnica de Madrid, Madrid, Spain. He has authored or co-authored more than 30 publications, including 10 Journal Citation Report (JCR) papers in journals, such as Applied Soft Computing, Expert Systems with Application, BMC Bioinformatics, Soft Computing, Reliability Engineering and System Safety, and Journal of Heuristics. His main research interests include metaheuristics, wireless sensor networks, digital embedded systems, and machine learning.
