Wei He, researcher of the Digital Embedded Systems group, was invited to give an academic talk on “Customised and Automated Implementation Toolset for Dual-Rail Countermeasure Against Side Channel Attacks” at the Laboratory of Information Security of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, on April 17th.

These countermeasures make side channel attacks, devoted to reveal cyphering keys by analysis of side-channel data such as power consumption or electromagnetic radiation, thousands of times more difficult, by modifying the logic in charge of cyphering data, making its operation data-independent.

This work, achieved along the last four years within SMART, a European Artemis JTI Project, and continued within DREAMS, of the Spanish National R&D Plan, was also awarded as Best Conference Paper last December 2012th in the Reconfig Conference at Cancun (Mexico).
