Miroslav Vasić was born in Serbia in 1981. He received the B.S. degree from the School of Electrical Engineering, University of Belgrade, Belgrade, Serbia, in 2005. Since then he has been working at Centro de Electrónica Industrial at ETSII (UPM) where he received his M.S. in 2007 and his Ph.D. degree in 2010. He has been working as assistant professor at UPM since 2015.
His research interests are in the field of Power Electronics Applications in the field of telecom, automotive and renewable energy applications. In the recent years, he has been very active in the field of power converter modelling, optimizations and in research of new semiconductor wide bandgap devices based on GaN and SiC and their impact on power electronics.
Miroslav has advised over 15 Master Thesis and 2 Doctoral dissertations, published over 20 journal papers and over 50 technical papers. His R&D has been done in direct collaboration with industrial partners (Thales Alenia Space, Airbus, Apex Microtechnology, Huawei, etc.) or through public funds obtained from the Spanish Ministry of Science and European Union. The research results have been extensively published and IP protected, and he holds 5 patents.
