Sisi Zhao was born in Xi’an, China, in 1989. She received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering and automation from the School of Automation, Northwestern Polytechnical University, Xi’an, China in 2010. Later she received the M.S. degree with ¨Matrícula de Honor¨(Maximum score with honor) in industrial electronics from Centro de Electrónica Industrial of Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Spain, in 2013. Afterward, she has been working towards her Ph.D. degree in the same center.
Her research interests include three-phase active rectifiers and control techniques applied to three-phase power conversion system. All the major projects she has participated are in collaboration with Airbus (Spain) and Indra (Spain) under the topic of three-phase active rectifiers on avionic application, ranging from 2 kW to 45 kW. One of the projects is under European “CleanSky” research program funded by the European Commission. Apart from the research work in the center, she was also the teaching assistant for Master’s course ¨Digital Control of Power Converters¨ from 2013 to 2016. Besides, in the summer of 2015, she did a three-month Ph.D. research stay in Power Electronic Systems Laboratory (PES) in ETH Zurich.
