Looking for graduate students to study Ph.D. within Electrical Engineering department at National Taiwan University in Taipei, Taiwan. I am interested in self-motivated students with a strong academic background, who can work in any of the following areas: semiconductor optics, third-generation solar cells, next-generation nonvolatile memory- resistive memory. Scholarship

Scholarships are offered by various organizations. Please note that admission applications and scholarship applications are separate, except for scholarships offered by NTU. Applicants who win any scholarship award are NOT guaranteed a university entrance admission, and vice versa. Applicants must pay attention to different deadlines for scholarships and school admission.

Taiwan Scholarship
International students may apply for the Taiwan Scholarship offered by the government. Please check http://www.edu.tw/→ English→ Scholarships for detailed information. In principle, applicants may apply from February 1st till end of March every year, at the Taiwan Overseas Mission (TOM) in their countries or the nearest country in case there is no TOM in the country. Although not necessary, I suggest that you apply for a Taiwan Scholarship from the Ministry of Education in Taiwan. These scholarships are valued at NT$30,000/month (To put the number in perspective, the average salary of a worker with Bachelor degree in Taiwan is NT$22,000/month).

Scholarships Offered by NTU
NTU has 2 different types of scholarships offered to graduate students. They are International Graduate Student Scholarship(NT$20,000/ per month for one year)and International Graduate Student Support Fund (NT$10,000/per month for one year.)Applicants do not need to submit any additional documents, indicating one’s intention the NTU international student admission application form is sufficient.
